The Role
As a Cost Accounting Supervisor you will play a pivotal role overseeing the financial integrity and profitability of our operations. Leading a team of skilled professionals, you will orchestrate the daily accounting operations, optimize cost management strategies, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. This role demands a professional with strong leadership skills, and a proactive approach to driving financial efficiency and compliance within the retail sector.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise daily accounting operations, including month-end closing processes, general ledger maintenance and reconciliations
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives and projects
- Establish and maintain a robust business process framework for cost accounting, conducting process assessments and implementing automation solutions ( e.g EDI )
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and provide insights on potential tax implications
- Monitor and reconcile company’s Valuation and Warehouse book
- Develop and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements
Requirements:
- Proven working experience of at least 3 years in cost accounting or related field ,
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Class A professional ID will be considered as an asset ,
- Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software, and databases, with the ability to handle large amounts of data effectively ,
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations ,
Desirable Qualifications:
- SAP knowledge.
- Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Previous experience with Retail company
