The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) AG is a joint venture company established with the purpose of planning, developing,
building and operating the TAP natural gas pipeline. TAP’s shareholding is comprised of BP (20%), SNAM (20%), SOCAR (20%), Fluxys (19%), Enagás (16%) and Axpo (5%).
TAP is the European leg of the Southern Gas Corridor, a gateway project that will transport 10 billion cubic metres (bcm/a)
of new gas supplies to multiple markets in Europe. TAP’s 878-km transportation system crossing Greece, Albania,
the Adriatic Sea & Italy started its commercial operations. We are looking for our team of Mechanical Engineers Field (MEng or PhD),
to be based in Athens, Greece, and travelling for extended periods to the Asset facilities (compressor stations, pipeline onshore and offshore,
block valves and PRT (Pipeline Receiving Terminal), in Greece, Albania and Italy.
The Mechanical Engineer (MEng or PhD) after the completion of the training period, will be responsible
for the timely development and implementation of company-wide processes and procedures to optimise production,
reliability and availability of plant and machinery. He/she will be part of a team of Lead Engineers
and will develop his/her expertise on one of the following technical domains:
Rotating Equipment: focus on the safe and reliable operation of all rotating equipment across the TAP assets,
including gas turbine driven centrifugal compressors, electrical water pumps and diesel & gas power generators.
Day to day duties include, fault-finding and rectification, specialist vendor management
and optimisation of equipment maintenance and inspection routines. Experience with Gas Compressors
is required and working Knowledge of EN 12583, API 610, API 616, API 617, API 670 is preferred.
Mechanical: focus on inspection, testing and maintenance of valves, safe and compliant process isolation management,
piping Vibration and Fatigue monitoring, equipment/package Fitness for Service and Maintenance Management strategies.
Working knowledge of the Energy Institute Guidelines for relevant topics is preferred.
Asset Integrity: focus on overall Technical Inspection of the asset (excluding pipelines), including Major Accident Hazard Management & Avoidance,
degradation mechanisms for Pressure Systems, piping and structures, planning and executing Risk Based Inspection Processes,
Performance Standard Management and Written Schemes of Examination. Working Knowledge of key industry standards such as,
API 579/BS 7910, API 510, 570, 580 is preferred.
Pipeline Integrity: focus on Pipeline (onshore and offshore) defect assessment and repair using PDAM & ASME31G,
Inspection technologies and techniques, Pipeline Integrity Procedures and the Pipeline Integrity Management System,
including safe systems of work. Working Knowledge of key industry standard such as EN1594, DNV F101, ASME B31.8,
ASME B31.8S, ISO 19345.
Cathodic Protection and Corrosion: focus on cathodic protection and corrosion control systems on pipelines and facilities in Italy,
Greece and Albania so that all facilities are protected and are compliant with local and international requirements,
working with key industry standards such as NACE.
Reporting directly to the Technical Asset Integrity Manager, the Mechanical Engineer is accountable
for providing mechanical engineering assurance for the Company’s plant and equipment within their specific discipline(s)
installed within the Compressor Stations, Pipeline Receiving Terminal and Transmission Pipeline.
He/she shall ensure the suitability and fitness for service of all relevant plant and equipment, through optimising maintenance
activities over the full life cycle to enable safe and reliable operations, contributing to the operational efficiency
and effectiveness of the organisation. He/she shall engage with equipment & service providers, industry technical bodies,
and engineering specialists as required, and drive continuous improvement.
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the safe company Technical Management of Change process
and shall provide technical support and oversight, within his/her area of expertise.

and who will travel extensively (for 1 or 2 years) across three countries to do so!
You are passionate about Mechanical Engineering in an Operations and Maintenance context and you want
to keep developing your career as a Lead Engineer Mechanical, embracing a specific expertise to play
a key role in operating and maintaining our asset: a high-pressure pipeline! You have acquired at least 3 years of experience.
A recognised qualification as a MEng or MSc or PhD in Mechanical and/or Materials and/or Metallurgy and/or related fields
Solid technical and mechanical knowledge in Operations and Maintenance with a strong
wish to develop further expertise in an international context. Ideally hands-on/supervisory
frontline engineering experience together with a detailed understanding of process equipment defect evaluations and repair,
in refinery/petrochemicals industries in the specification, selection, testing and handling design issues
of all mechanical equipment in major high-value projects.
Experience working with Turbo-Compressors, Valves, Pipeline Pigging and/or Transmission systems is recommended
Experience with CMMS and Asset Management software systems for Mechanical Equipment
Safety conscious, with proven experience in equipment studies, specific risk assessments, safety case revisions,
HSSE Risk Management Process including Risk Register Management
Experience in participating in HSEQ reviews and value improvement activities
Strong knowledge of mathematical and mechanical engineering concepts
Working knowledge of relevant national and international design codes and practices
Understanding of European and Country statutory and regulatory obligations
Working Knowledge of applicable engineering standards
Willingness to travel extensively across the 3 host countries (Greece, Albania, Italy), initially for extensive training purposes,
then to perform Lead Engineer (Mechanical) duties and inspections
