SYNTAX, a software and IT consulting company established in 1994 in Athens, Greece with major clients in the banking, insurance and telecom sectors, is seeking to recruit talented and motivated Mid-level Software Engineer. Those who join us will work as part of SYNTAX‘s software development team in one of the major insurance companies in Greece that developed and deployed the first and most successful online insurance platform and currently planning its next generation customer-centric digital solutions.

Αρμοδιότητες

As a Mid-level Software Engineer, you will be involved in the development of innovative projects, always working with state-of-the-art software technology and best practices.

More specifically you will:

  • Design, implement, test and maintain various Web-based, critical software applications in Java, as part of a team that develops projects for major customers in Greece
  • Work with analysis, operations, and test teams in order to achieve the best possible outcome within time and budget

Απαραίτητα Προσόντα

  • 3-4 years of working experience as a Software Developer.
  • B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Information Systems.
  • Experience working on Java projects.
  • Work experience as Front-End Developer (HTML, CSS & Javascript).
  • Willingness to work with Agile methodology.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented concepts and principles.
  • Understanding of SQL and relational databases.
  • Ability to take initiative while being open to learning.
  • Ability to work independently and also as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both orally and written.

Επιθυμητά Προσόντα

  • M.Sc. in Software Engineering or Information Systems, with a solid foundation on data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, artificial intelligence.
  • Work experience in relevant sector.
  • Having attended coding seminars.
  • Knowledge of modern front-end frameworks (React.js, AngularJS, jQuery, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent command of English (oral and written).
  • Ability to design, implement, test, and maintain complex subsystems.
  • Very good knowledge of the Java EE stack.
