We are currently looking for a Conceptual and Basic Design Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team part of our Process Engineering Division in our Athens Offices.

Your role will encompass:

• Conceptualizing and developing designs for power plants and diverse industrial facilities, encompassing Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) as well as hydrogen (H2) production plants
• Conducting comprehensive reviews of Heat & Mass Balances, Water Balances, Process Flow Diagrams, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, Line & Valve Lists, System Descriptions, and System Calculation Reports
• Crafting technical specifications and associated datasheets for various mechanical equipment, including but not limited to gas turbines, reciprocating engines, boilers, pumps, heat exchangers, air and gas compressors, etc
• Assessing and evaluating the technical offerings from mechanical equipment vendors, ensuring alignment with project requirements and standards
• Collaborating closely with other engineering disciplines, such as Civil, Electrical, and Instrumentation & Control (I&C), to ensure seamless integration of all project components
• Actively participating in and providing support for Hazard and Risk analysis studies, including HAZID (Hazard Identification), and HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) studies, to identify and mitigate potential operational risks
• Offering technical assistance, guidance, and troubleshooting support to on-site commissioning personnel during the installation and startup phases
• Facilitating effective communication and coordination through participation in interface meetings, project discussions with equipment vendors, and liaising with representatives from various disciplines and the customer

What you bring to the role:

• Hold an engineering degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering ,
• Possess 3-5 years of practical experience in a relevant position within the power, oil & gas sector ,
• Exhibit an exceptional command of the English language, with additional proficiency in other languages being an advantageous attribute ,
• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Industrial Standards, including but not limited to ASME, API, HEI, ISO, EN, and BS ,
• Display a proficient grasp of various computer applications, particularly MS Office, AutoCAD, and Navisworks (Supplementary experience with specialized software such as Thermoflow, GT PRO / ST PRO, AFT, and Pipe Flow will be regarded as an added advantage) ,
• Exhibit critical thinking and troubleshooting capabilities in handling complex engineering challenges ,
• Showcase strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with management and customers ,
• Project confidence and competence in engaging with senior management and clients, ensuring a professional and collaborative work environment ,
