We are looking for a talented & passionate Buyer for the Commercial Department, based in our offices in Agia Paraskevi. The main Purposes of the role are to execute tactical buying within given thresholds following close cooperation with Merchandising team, to build a commercial and trend-led product range and deliver sales and profit targets through a cohesive product strategy. The role will act as the Buyer for the JD Sports brand In Greece.

Key Responsibilities

• Attending all appointments, with involvement in selection and editing of product
• Attending all product launches throughout the year as specified
• Analysis and review of previous weeks sales with the merchandising department to propose and drive actions for the week ahead
• Being constantly aware of new brands and opportunities to diversify and drive department/category sales
• Budget preparation and planning within internal teams and external brands
• Working independently in a creative and trend led environment
• Managing budgets and OTB on in seasons and forward budgets
• Present ranges for sign off with Senior Buyer
• Preparation and presentation of performance in trade meetings
• Measure and take actions against sell through on orderbook, while focus on maximizing sell outs on full price
• Act as company’s ambassador, in all appointments with suppliers
• Attend all trade shows

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, or Information Technology-Master’s degree preferably in marketing or MBA will be considered as a plus ,
• Up to two (2) years of experience as Buyer (Merchandising or Sales), while Marketing experience is appreciated, including Sports, Fashion or FMCG ,
• Prior knowledge of wholesale or retail is preferred ,
• Strong interpersonal skills (e.g. communication, negotiation, relationship management) ,
• High degree of commercial and business acumen ,
• Ability to effectively collaborate within a cross-functional team ,
• Strong presentation and communication skills, written and verbal ,
• Solution oriented and open minded to new ways of working ,
• Ability to operate well in a fast-paced environment with high level of ambiguity. ,
• Fluent in English both written and orally is a must. Skills and abilities in other language are a plus ,
• Strong Computer skills incl. Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint ,
