This role is a Senior position within the Cosmos Group Team. The role is critical to the execution of overall long-term strategy as it leads the implementation of the JD Sports strategy and a full breadth of execution of activities across digital channels.

Purpose of the role

The purpose of this role is to manage and control the consistent profitable growth of JD Sports with team & agency support while providing guidance on the brand’s long-term strategy and ensuring yearly plans and objectives are developed, implemented, and achieved.

This role will also have leadership responsibilities in the areas below :

Work with the commercial teams to ensure their commitment and engagement in the plans, in order to deliver flawless execution.

Inspire and motivate agencies to execute brilliantly.

Top Accountabilities

Leads execution of the strategic marketing plans, with commitment and participation from key stakeholders, so as to achieve volume, mix, market share, and profit objectives.

Leads the client/agency relationship and challenges the agency to ensure the best possible output on the brand. Leads the agency to achieve innovative media plans which optimize the marketing budget and maximize impact.

Utilizes data to anticipate competitive and consumer trends assess strategic implications and optimize business potential based on analysis.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

Regularly reviewing, evaluating, and reporting on performance to ensure results are aligned to targets for the website and marketplaces.

Working closely with the Ecommerce and Marketing team to drive the brand’s offering forward.

Maintaining, developing, and advancing the website in such a way that continuous improvements are being delivered across multiple disciplines including Merch, Conversion, Performance channels, and Trade to produce best in class digital customer acquisition techniques, to ensure that high volumes of new customers are acquired profitably by the business.

Developing strong relationships with suppliers and partners to ensure effective delivery of services to the business and department.

Working with third-party suppliers and other relevant parties on collaborative marketing strategies to drive online performance.

Identifying, managing, and mitigating risks to the fascia’s performance, working quickly to resolve any issues before they impact upon performance, whilst updating relevant stakeholders.

Leading, motivating, and developing direct reports to ensure high levels of job satisfaction and colleague retention. Ensuring that all team members have accurate job descriptions and appropriate KPIs to monitor their performance.

As part of the eCommerce management team setting a great example to all colleagues of the business.

Requirements

Experience within the eCommerce retail vertical in either Merch, Performance, Marketplaces or Trade is essential

Experience using Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook Business Manager

Understanding of performance channel marketing mix

Analytical skills are essential

Problem-solving and Resolution approach to issues

Strong attention to detail

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Must be able to demonstrate strong stakeholder management skills

Ability to work as part of a small team in a fast-moving environment

Proactive, independent, and result-oriented

Ability to learn new tasks and process
